A doctorate magna cum laude – the head of HTT’s technology department receives the coveted Dr. Wilhelmy Prize
We are delighted to announce that our colleague Mehran Tahir, head of the technology department at HTT, was awarded the academic title “Doktor-Ingenieur” [Doctor of Engineering] in November 2024.
In his doctorate at the University of Stuttgart’s Institute of Power Transmission and High Voltage Technology, the head of our technology department investigated innovative methods for accurately assessing the condition of power transformers and thus provided valuable insights into their reliability and network performance. His thesis entitled “Objective Interpretation of Frequency Response Analysis of Power Transformers” was awarded the distinction magna cum laude by the Faculty of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology.
Particularly gratifying was the decision of the Dr Wilhelmy Foundation to award Dr Tahir the Dr Wilhelmy Prize 2024 in recognition of this outstanding academic paper. The coveted prize, which is endowed with 3,000 euros, is awarded once a year for outstanding theses – an impressive achievement for which the whole HTT team offers their sincere congratulations.
“We are very proud of Dr Tahir’s achievement, which reflects the innovative mindset and the technical excellence for which HTT stands,” says Managing Director Nils Martin.
“The recognition encourages me to continue to work on pioneering technologies for transformers and reliable energy networks,” says Dr Mehran Tahir.
